Imagine a world without art! Art has such a great impact in the world it is unbelievable, just take a look at your desk. Someone had to design it which makes it a form of art. Your shoes, clothes ,and even your hair is all a form of art. You can feel ,see, hear and even taste art. Its a way to be creative and express ourselves. In other words it’s a form of expression. I had three great ways to express myself and each one of these artifacts are a part of who I am.
My favorite one is the collage. My collage is different from the other students because its on a shoe box. I wanted to make it my memory box so I decided to decorate it with all my favorite images. The main theme of it was music. Its has my three favorite artists Michael Jackson , Aubrey Drake Graham(Drake),and last but not least Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta (Lady Gaga). I also have images of nature or abnormal surroundings because when I listen to music I’m in my own world. The images also represent the harmony and beauty in music. It also had some of my favorite quotes from songs. Some people may call it a piñata, but I prefer paper mache mainly because I don’t plan on breaking it any time soon. At first I had planned to make Gir from Invader Zim. Unfortunately Gir is not the easiest cartoon to recreate and I didn’t not have time to make it. Instead I made a robot with headphones. The reason I picked a robot is because it’s a symbol of the future and I always think ahead. The book was the most fun and most challenging. I must say I had the most trouble with this project. The sewing was weird and it was something I have never done before. The cover was finger painted bubble rap. To me it represent the inner child in me. Who doesn’t feel like a child again when they play with bubble rap or finger paint.
The main similarity that all these great projects behold is that they are all made of paper. They each represent the kind of person I am or my interests. The theme of both the collage and the robot with headphones is music. Music is the art that represents my feelings.
Each one of these art pieces had a different challenge. A different lesson. A different representation. Each one unique because of its structure and symbols. For example a shoe box covered in all kinds of images is something people are not use to seeing as a memory box.
We all have to admit art is awesome! You have the ability to make whatever your heart desires without hearing someone say that it is wrong. I never once heard Mr. Renner say I cant make a robot with headphones or a bubble rap book cover. That is something that I learned from art class this year. In order to see the different beauty in people or cultures you have to be open minded. Which is why art has a great impact in the world
